15 Things To-Do With Your Special Friend During Summer by Talya Herring – FC Volunteer from San Diego, CA
1) Go to a park - Playing games and having a picnic is a great way to bond plus it's tons of fun!
2) Bake cookies - Either from scratch or from a package they will be a cool activity to make and eat. You can decorate them with different icing or just go basic with chocolate chip cookies.
3) Decorate frames - Buy frames at a craft/dollar store or make one by gluing four popsicle sticks to make a border for a picture of the two of you. Each of you can decorate one and then trade.
4) Have a movie night - Heat up some popcorn and enjoy a funny movie together.
5) Paint pictures of each other - They can be silly or realistic but no doubt, you and your friend will have a great time.
6) Record videos - Just take a camcorder and record yourselves doing a funny dance or telling jokes. It will be so much fun looking back at what you did.
7) Set up a lemonade stand - It will not only be a hit with the neighbors on a hot day but you and your friend could use your money to go buy ice cream together.
8) Do a fashion show - Go through your closet and find some crazy clothes to use and dress up with your friend.
9) Write a song - The lyrics can be about whatever you want, and performing it in front of each other will defintely create some similes.
10) Make jewlery - You can make friendship bracelets or string beads to make necklaces and keychains are a great alternative to do with boys!
11) Play in the sprinklers - An all time favorite for hot summer days. Just remember to O.K. this one with your special friend's parents first.
12) Dance - Put on some music and you can teach each other some dance moves.
13) Share your hobbies - If you or your special friend have a cool talent don't be afraid to teach it to each other.
14) Get out some board games - Just because you haven't played candy land in like 10 years doesn't mean its not going to be fun! Sorry, Twister and Chutes and Ladders are also awesome choices.
15) Write notes to each other - If you go out of town or to camp make sure to write letters to you special friend. It will defiantly bring a smile to their faces and you just might receive a letter back.
